Graham Gamble brings more than 18 years of international school administrative leadership to Shattuck-St. Mary’s Forest City, most recently as the Headmaster at Alexanders College in the United Kingdom and The English School in Cyprus. 

Graham was born in Plymouth, England, though he grew up and went to school in the suburbs of North London. Graham earned his degree in Italian and English Literature at the University of Edinburgh, where he also edited the student newspaper and acted in numerous plays. Graham’s teaching career began immediately after university in Thessaloniki, Greece. After his work in Greece, Graham trained as a teacher of English and Drama at Cambridge University before assuming positions in his hometown of Watford and at an independent boarding school in the English Midlands. Graham returned to overseas teaching with an exchange posting to The Scots College in Sydney, Australia. In 1998, Graham became Head of the English Department at King’s College, Madrid. In 2000, he became Head of Upper School and then Deputy Head at the newly established British School of Washington, D.C. After seven years in the United States, including a semester as Head of the British American School of Charlotte, Graham and the family moved to Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he became Deputy Head and then Acting Head of St. Paul’s School. Graham then became Director of the American International School of Rotterdam (Netherlands) in 2009, followed by his work in Cyprus and England.
