Design Thinking to Enhance Your Admissions & Marketing
Winning companies, such as Apple, Virgin, Toyota and others, innovate continuously because of their culture of design thinking – integrating the needs of people, the possibilities of technology and the requirements for business success. Through the lens of a design thinker, Teresa will share the journey of how AIS was transformed into a highly efficient, human-centered and paperless office since adopting OpenApply in 2016. She will also share strategies of blending the perspectives of marketing, design and accountability into a systematic approach that could affect every facet of the admissions business.

What Every Head Needs to Know About Enrollment Management
This report is intended to provide independent school leaders with both a high-level overview of enrollment management and some specific examples of enrollment management practice in schools. Enrollment Management encompasses the life cycle of the student experience: from recruitment to enrollment to graduation. This is not the job of one person, or one department. It is a whole school endeavor. What do our school leaders need to know? What do you want them to know?

Keynote: "Transferring the Trust"
Sometimes we need to look at the relationship between schools and parents in a new way. It’s not always true that parents trust schools and teachers.

Indeed, in recent years, there have been too many examples in which that trust has been betrayed. And, in an age of populism where the opinion of so-called “experts” has been viewed with skepticism, the problem that schools and education professional face in winning the trust of parents can be even greater. The cultural differences in an international school can compound that challenge.

This session will examine the topic of trust between parents and schools and some ideas that schools can consider for earning and keeping that trust once again.

In this session, we will explore the evolution of the Admission Director's role in the new competitive landscape and the need for thicker admissions data for decision-making school-wide, not just for enrollment. Session 2: How to Win Students and Influence Parents
You see them when they come on tour. You send personalized emails. You track their visits to your website and invite them to shadow current students. But do you know what really motivates a family to apply to your school?

Given the myriad challenges facing enrollment leaders in today’s competitive market – many of which are beyond our control – it is critical that we make the admission process more accessible and family friendly. To aid enrollment leaders in this endeavor, The Enrollment Management Association surveyed thousands of parents immediately following the 2016-2017 application season.

Come prepared to reflect on the survey results and consider the practical application this information can have to your work.
